DON'T CRY FOR THE HORSES
Don't cry for the horses that life has set free.
A million white horses forever to be.
Don't cry for the horses now in God's hand.
As they dance and they prance in a heavenly band.
They were ours as a gift, but never to keep,
As they close their eyes forever to sleep.
Their spirits unbound. On silver wings they fly.
A million white horses against the blue sky.
Look up into heaven; you'll see them above.
The horses we lost, the horses we loved.
Manes and tails flowing, they gallop through time.
They were never yours, they were never mine.
Don't cry for the horses.
They'll be back someday.
When our time is gone, they will show us the way.
Do you hear that soft nicker? Close to your ear?

Horses are possibly the most unfortunate of all domestic animals. Rarely do they have one owner all their lives - and if they do, they are often pampered then forgotten and left to end their lives in a paddock, cold, hungry and lonely.
Too many go to the knackery. Their owners need them no more - they see the meagre dollars their sale will bring in and do not stop to think of the fear their once beloved mount will experience before the end.
Then there are the mares and their foals.... used and discarded by those that seek to profit from the manufacture and sale of Premarin®, a conjugated oestrogen product extracted from pregnant mares' urine (PMU) and most commonly prescribed to relieve hormonal deficiency symptoms associated with menopause or hysterectomy.
And the list goes on...
It is in memory of my beautiful thoroughbred mare that was also destined for the knackery that I have started Whispering Hope Ltd to help all those wonderful, dedicated people who have already established horse rescues and are struggling to do so much with limited resources. I have dedicated the net profits from my MAD business to this cause. If you would like to join us on this journey please click here.
If you currently run a horse rescue we commend you for what you do. We would like to assist you in any way we can. It is our hope that, in time, we will be able to bring together people with a shared vision because we believe that by working together we will be able to achieve so much more. Our goal is to link and support all existing horse rescue organizations around the world.
A lofty goal? Yes, but certainly one that can be achieved over time. We welcome the interest and input of you, the horse loving community.
